Just came back from Seremban for my late granduncle's prayers...miss him alot,he passed away a year ago...well,to me,he's like my own grandpa coz he used to stay with us 15 years back and i dun really know abt my grandpa so much,he passed away when dad used to be single...he died at the age of 64...i think.
Appupa (grandfather in malayalam) stayed with us coz he was working at KL,despite he can go back home from work by his van,we thought that it would be much better if he can like,stay with us due to his age factor,and yeah,facing a tiring and extreame work is a normal thing for contractors...(check on the workers,handling rollers and back pushers,turfing roads and the worst part is,doing all these work under the sunlight,yea,it sucks that we hafta face this kinda weather) anyways,he loved to hang out with kids,(kanak2 ribena cam kiteorg nieh,tak boleh bla!)
The coolest part when appupa came back from work was,he bought us this cool carbonated drinks called 'fizzi'(korang ingat lagi tak? kalau tak,cube ingat) and
assorted biscuits. Mase dier balik,mesti kite lari from the living room,kejar macam orang bodoh,sreaming 'appupa' as loud as possible and serang the things yang dier beli. Ok,this is the funniest part,we really like the Melon Fizzi.(the can is or WAS light green in colour,kalau tak ingat lagi sebab otak da karat,korang gi google je ar!) Yang kiteorg bengang nieh,appupa selalu beli colour lain2...he will only buy one Mellon Fizzi,the rest,lain colour. Sebab tu la kiteorg lari sekuat2 hati mak bapak yang boleh. INGAT, Finders keepers, losers weepers!
Ram will always win when it comes to this kinda shit. Still remember the way he rip off those plastics bags like a lil Godzilla and screaming in victory when he got the Melon Fizzi. The rest,we started crying and sreaming at appupa.
"Appupa,lain kali beli yang warna hijau sahaja,lain suma taknak!!!" I said (still cant speak english at this time,sadly)
He was just laughing and said ok to us.
the next day.
Kanak2 ribena: APPUPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SERANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(kedebuk kedebak kedebuk kedepak,bunyik kiteorg berlari,tetibe stop and say) HUH!!!ADER DUA LA!
Shaline and Ram won this battle again,crapt...and as for 2 of us,we started to weep again...and scolded appupa for the second time
"Appupa,kenape tak beli semua colour hijau?"
"Ini suma colour hijau molle (means child,"mol-la" that's how u pronounce it)
"Saya nak colour hijau nieh bukan nieeeehhhh!(while pinting at the cans)"
"Da da da sayang,nanti balik kereja,appupa pegi bili itu macam punya colour :)"
"Ok appupa! :D"
and he kept on doing the same thing,till we got fed up of it,and yea he finally bought for us the same drink -_-...
ader sebalik cerita kenape dier buat cam nieh. He liked to see us fight,sream at each others(i mean to my siblings) and play around. By doing this,dier boleh entertain diri dier and vice versa. Adorable huh? ;-)
Ader bende lawak yang lain jugak when he was around,lemmie just shorten the stories aight.
1. He dont know how to pronounce the word 'tembikai'. He said,me-mikai...we kept on asking him to pronounce the word 'tembikai' and he will reply the me-mikai thing on purpose just to make us laugh...how naughty we are!
2.When mother wanna whack us with her rottan,we will quickly ran off to him and hide at his back. He'll ask my mom not to whack us for sure.(showing our thubms up to mother and said "tak dapat! tak dapat!")
3.Sister and I wore kain sarong and a t-shirt at night when appupa's around,just to copy him xD
Once the construction da siap,he went back to his place,da tak tinggal with us da...but we do visit him at seremban sometimes.
it was in 2005 mase funeral my late uncle,14 days before PMR...for like 8 or 9 years,mase itulah i jumpe appupa,served him a cup of tea and started chit chatting...and sadly,that was my last time seeing him alive.
Appupa:kalau saya balik,saya mesti bagitahu isteri saya,anak-anak saya pasal kamu semua. :)
The last line from him that i will never forget.
